In the year 2049, the "great intra-dimensional swap" occurred, changing the world forever. However, none of this really mattered to Detective Oliver Twine.In the year 2099, a rare interdimensional double-homicide occurred in the Sands of Time Casino in Las Vegas, and everyone is baffled by how the victims could have been killed seemingly without anyone entering their hotel rooms. However, the impossibility of the murders doesn't faze the great Detective Twine, because he's sure that he can still solve this murder mystery just by applying the classic four-act mystery formula to this complicated case. He and his freshly-minted rookie 2D partner, Stanley Algernon, slowly peel back the layers of this case, and despite running into several dead-ends and some very personal attacks, they discover that there's a lot more to these murders than they originally thought. Furthermore, time is not on their side as they race the clock to solve the crime before the killer gets away forever.
