Lorraine Rose grew up in New York state and initially led a rather conventional life as wife, mother, and grandmother for many years. This changed dramatically when Lorraine reached her late 40's.Lorraine reinvented herself when she received a B.A. degree as an adult and began freelance writing, which included developing a column for a women's magazine. When almost 60, she drove, alone, 1800 miles from her home in upstate New York to rent an apartment, sight unseen, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she wrote feature stories for the city newspaper, The New Mexican.Over the years Lorraine has parasailed, gone up in balloons and gliders and jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. She taught English in Warsaw, Poland, for three years, although she isn't Polish and wasn't a teacher. Her adventures also include traveling around the United States, Canada, and Mexico in a 5th wheel for a few years. Her books include insightful, witty and revealing stories of her real-life travels, family, and adventures. Now in her eighties (though you'd never believe it if you saw her fleeting around, telling jokes, playing the piano, and singing at every holiday event), Lorraine currently lives in San Diego, California, where she continues her writing.
