Elaine Kirra Brennan was about twelve when she first remembered her dreams. They seemed far too real to simply forget. They were not strange things, just normal life things not really much different than things around her everyday. Oh, some things were different. The place she dreamed about had two suns on it, one yellow and one blue. The nights were much brighter than normal, too; but that just went along with dreaming. The vegetation was different, come to think about it and the fact that she only had three fingers opposite her thumb was somewhat strange to her; but it was normal for where she was and who she was. Everybody only had four fingers on their hands. They still only had two hands - well, more like four really, their feet had the same set up with three fingers and an opposing big toe. They walked upright when they were on the ground, but they weren't on the ground all that much. They lived in the trees sort of like monkeys. And they flew! They were flying monkeys! Oh, their wings were not on their bodies, they were made from the bark of the Aklor tree. In the light gravity "Rain Cloud" could fly. In the native language she was called "Ai Ola". When Elaine woke up she remembered how to fly. When she got old enough she knew that she could build her own wings and fly also. A few years later she did that very thing and became "Bird-Girl".
