Steve, a young Merchant Navy Officer, has a new girl friend Janet. They decide to go on holiday together, Steve books the holiday to the Greek Island of Zakynthos, on the holiday they go on a cruise round the Greek Islands close to them. Romance between, Steve and Janet, blossoms for them. Arriving home Steve finds a letter instructing him to join a ship in Tilbury Docks, the ship takes Steve across the Atlantic to the USA. In Central Park New York, Steve gets attacked, but not hurt. Steve is told that he is to be transferred to another ship in Boston, joining the other ship he is promoted, and steamed back to England. He is given a few days leave at home, and takes Janet to a hotel in Chester. In Chester they have a great time, with a few saucy moments. Recalled to join his ship in Tilbury, while waiting for the ship to leave, a party is held, nurses, come onto the ship. Steve gets to dance and dally with Jeanie an attractive Irish Nurse. The ship leaves and steams again across the Atlantic, whilst the ship was loading cargo in the US, John, a young officer is hurt, and a replacement is sent out from England. The ship is described steaming through the Panama Canal, then up to California. Steve and Jim, the new officer, go to visit the liner Queen Mary moored in San Francisco. The ship encounters a thick fog, in which the ship narrowly misses a collisions. On his return home on leave, Steve gets engaged to Janet, buying her an engagement ring. Next voyage crossing the Atlantic, the ship runs into severe storns, despite changing course many times, they run into a hurricane. In the storn thinking that the worst is over, Steve is blown off a ladder, falls and is badly injured. He ends up in hospital in Jamaica. In the end, it comes to a very happy conclusion for Steve and Janet.
