We examine whether Nigerian women have equal rights with men. To rectify these conditions such as discrimination based on gender, violence, and other maltreatments, we apply qualitative methodology using content analysis, personal knowledge, and observations. The former has taken precedence and profoundly overshadowed the latter. However, there is a high incidence of violence, discrimination, and other maltreatments against women.
