Margaret Cooper was a WASP during WWII flying B26 Martin Marauder bombers from the United States to England for use in the war effort. On one trip out they lost a fuel coupling on one of the two engines and turned back. The B26 does not like to fly on only one engine. She sat it down miraculously on a farm in North Carolina. After the war Maggy returned to still find the old bomber sitting there in an implement shed. The owner gave it to her since he had no use for such a thing on the farm. As a result she turned it into a fire bomber and on one of her missions rescued several men and as a result got the name "Hot Maggy" painted upon the side of her airplane. Her great granddaughter Margaret Stewart was given her great grandmother's fire war scarred airplane when she was the age that Maggy was when she went into firebombing. Making contact with her great grandmother by way of dreams that were more akin to time loops than anything else, Margaret found out that her great grandmother was unable to have children. The conundrum is resolved in the story of two amazing women becoming each other separated only by the unreality of time.
