Ensaios de Michael Asbury, Claudia Calirman, Gabriela Rangel e Judith Rodenbeck, que analisam a obra de Antonio Manuel, integram o livro, mostrando a inserção do artista no clima político de repressão presente no Brasil daquele período, bem como no amplo discurso teórico que circulava então acerca da arte conceitual e da body art como um fenômeno internacional.
