Description

This book describes my father's early life spent in the Black Country, he spoke in a dialect which is still spoken by many people living here today in the in the Black Country Region. It covers most of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton.I have written this tale in the Black Country Dialect; because that is the way it should be told. We tolerate William Shakespeare's choice of language, so why not this way of communicating? The Story describes his early years from the time when he was born in 1917 up to & including World War 2. It shows how his life was shaped by key events in his early life. It's about life's ups & downs & love. He suffered heartaches too mainly caused by the loss of his mother, & his father's lack of affection for him & his siblings. You will detect a thread running through his story; this is really a love story in two parts. At first there was his great love for his mother, and then his second great love that for his wife Dorothy. The story will appeal to all readers, (of all ages) including research minded people having an interest in social history. I can honestly say that the older I get, the more I appreciate the love my parents gave. My love for them grows at an even faster pace. Some people slip unnoticed through the gaps in the passages of time, Christopher surely deserves a worthy mention, don't you ever forget him.
