Investment banker , Charles Katz, is poised to become a partner of the NYC firm Lincoln Lester Wealth Management upon marrying the sole heiress, Charlotte Lester. Charles has an epiphany; abandons his first meeting with the Prince, and leaves his office by sneaking out of the fire escape exit during a snow storm. He meets E. Willoughby Jones who has been living on New York's mean streets for many years. An affable buddha, Will introduces Charles to life on the street by taking him to lunch at a soup-kitchen run by Johnny, a former Mafioso. Charles' assistant, Kristal Ann Morgan, is sent out into the storm by Charlotte to find him. Kristal is the one person who understands Charles' character, and need for solace amidst the intensity of Wall Street. Lives converge and change in Part I of this novel about finding one's true meaning in life and in love.
