However Sandy Mendelbaum becomes seriously ill and eventually undergoes a mastectomy while "IceShip Earth" slowly melts in the Hudson River but supplies fresh drinking water to the City of New York. Mitch and Sandy head to California to take on an Antarctic iceberg.
