Get out your maps, atlases, gloves and Baedeker's. Odysseus Redux (Tristan and Aurore) will take you on a global adventure to places many have never seen except in their dreams. Through no choice of his own, Tristan is swept away to distant lands, strange people, and dangerous encounters none of which he ask for nor anticipated. There is a potential for global destruction, terrorism, greed and threat of anarchy. Mysteriously, some shadowy figure appears in each episode to save him. Just as mysteriously, it disappears. Percy and Maude enter as the dark side of theis tale in Singapore. They exit, under baffling circumstances, in Chicago. Aurore and her companion, Napoleon meet Tristan in Casablanca. They are his encouragers and sustainers. Tristan and Aurore fall deeply in love. Like hereos everywhere, Tristan undergoes separation, seeks his grail and has a joyous returning and fulfillment. This is much a page-turner filled with modern thrills, escapes and adventure as was Homer's Odyssey. Tristan travels to every continent except Antarctica; truly a mammoth geographic undertaking. Inexplicably, Tristan has the gift of speaking and understanding virtually every language he encounters -- a distinct blessing considering there are several dozen tongues spoken on his odyssey. Just as inexplicable are the throwbacks: Marco Polo, Genghis Kahn, Shangri La and Prester John, the Shah of Persia, a stoning in biblical Jerusalem, a visit to an Aesculpian dream hospital -- just a few of the atavisms in Odysseus Redux. Like the heroic epic adventures, discussed in the prologue, Odysseus Redux is written with boldness and panache. It demands strength of heart and a spirit of adventure. Put on your imagination caps and get on board. The train is leaving the station!
