Criminals are targeting the older people of Stoke Newington in London. News spreads in the community of muggings, robberies and scams. Neither Phyllis nor Dolly has a clue about how to investigate. They make it up as they go along, adopting a guard dog, dressing up in disguises, and hunting the villains wherever they loiter--lonely cemeteries, seaside towns, country music jamborees. They rope in anyone who will help them. The villains may have finally met their match. Or have Nettle & Makepeace bitten off more than they can chew?
