Preface June 11, 1976 I received a call from my mother; my father, George, was close to death. Dad believed in God but was not a religious person. Looking back, I wish both of my parents were more accepting of God in their lives. In the hospital room, I started praying for my dad. My mother had not called the priest. This was upsetting to me, so I started praying over him. I was 31 at the time, and had decades to go before I was called by God to be his Deacon son. Acting like a priest, I blessed him with water on his head, hands, and feet. While praying over him, I was hurting inside. I loved this man greatly. After a little more prayer, I felt I needed to leave the room. It was so hard for me to see him coming closer to death; his breaths were spaced farther apart. I should have stayed by his side but I went through the door into the hallway. There was an outside door, next to his room. As I pushed on the door, for some reason, I looked up. Above me, and to my right was my father looking at me. I immediately stopped, and what I saw was amazing. . . Declarations Since the abolition of Canon 1399 and 2318 of the former Canonical Code by Pope Paul VI in AAS 58 (1966) 1186, publications about new appearances, revelations, prophecies, miracles, locutions, etc., have been allowed to be distributed and read by the faithful without express permission of the Church, providing that they contain nothing which contravenes faith and morals. Therefore, no Imprimatur is necessary. ¿In cases like this [apparitions], it is better to believe than not to believe, for, if you believe, and it is proven true, you will be happy that you have believed, because our Holy Mother asked it. If you believe and it is proven false, you will receive all blessings as if it had been true, because you believed it to be true.¿ ¿ His Holiness, Urban VIII (Pope, 1623-1644)
