I Decided to write this book during the Pandemic of 2020 just before the governor issued the order to Stay-at-home and shelter-in-place to help lower the curve of contamination as this virus is spreading across our land and around the world. This may be my last book. This time at the computer, my wife, Chris and I are in the same room, as she and I sort through our boxes of old photographs, is and has been, one of the most enjoyable times in my life. We've agreed to live this time to our fullest advantage in harmony and peaceful accord as we review our fifty-plus years of marriage, events, children and grandchildren. Our chances of outliving this pandemic is slime to nil, as she is now seventy and I eighty. We both have underlying health conditions that factor in our survival rates: my heart condition, my COPD and my prostate condition. She has a better chance than I because of her age and that she is a lady.I'm prepared for whatever the outcome may be because of my past indiscretions. I once thought that I would not live to be fifty. But I made it to sixty, seventy and now eighty. I am most grateful for that extension of time. Especially since I was able to write or publish over one-hundred books just in the last ten years. I am ready for whatever is in my future, including death.Now, this book has been especially wonderful to put together as I re-live those years aboard.During our time aboard the Westwind, from 1989 to 1991, I kept logs of the ship's history and Chris kept her journals and it is from these I have recreated out time aboard. The most interesting of the logs was the year 1998 and our trip that summer of circumnavigating Vancouver Island.
