Robert Stivers is an internationally recognized photographer. The images presented here are from Stivers's working Polaroid prints, shot with a Hasselblad camera for instant proofing of lighting and composition of his subjects-including both models and still lifes, usually in a controlled studio setting. These previously unseen images, photographed in the 1980's and 90's, were used as working prints and then long hidden away in the artist's archives. Stivers hand-worked the surfaces of these Polaroids using various materials to scratch, color, burn, and collage them, inspiring him to create his finished exhibition photographs. This first edition is limited to 450 copies, each signed and numbered by the artist, with 40 full-color images, and a thumbnail index in back of book. This is Stivers sixth book to date.
