The issues papers that comprise The Acacia Strategy will serve several purposes: • Provide venues for discussion around various issues that are in play today with respect to high education in the United States. • Speak boldly to the ideas, possibilities, vision and mission of higher education history and policy, in general, and the mission and vision of black higher education specifically. • Explore bold new areas based on the tremendous work already accomplished by HBCU’s and the national black college network. • Provide a sound basis for establishing our federal education agenda in the coming decades. • Create a contextual framework for discussing issues by HBCU’s.
