I tried to put into this book my experiences about living in the South. Mainly growing up in Charleston, South Carolina, I have stories from the early 60s, whites-only water fountains, and how blacks couldnat eat at the lunch counter. There are stories about the 70s and the Vietnam War and the fight to bring our boys home. I talk about the campaign against the Republican Party in the 80s and thank God for Bill Clinton and Al Gore in the 90s. There are many experiences with my family, from my father and mother to my four grandchildren. In this book you will read stories about simple family life. As children we didnat see much of the turmoil going on in the world. All we thought about was baseball and football. It didnat matter who was white or black. It tells of my move from Charleston to Chapin and my trips to Edisto Island.
