Charles Berner (1929 - 2007), was born in California (USA). Around 1950 he began to research past life's and postmortal experiences, which continued for 9 years. He also researched every psychological, religious and philosophical method he could find. He trained as a midwife, and Bernard Jenson taught him iridology. He became known worldwide as a specialist for past lives, but has left the field to develop methods by which people could improve their current life much more practically. He developed the Enlightenment Intensive, Connection Exercises, Marriage Exercises, Mind Clearing, Clearing Of Problems, and the original Theology and Metaphysic. His life was very full and he was intensively traveled. In 1973, while traveling through India, he met his guru, Swami Kripalvananda, kundalini master, who initiated him in the path of natural yoga. He combined his own work, with the teachings of his guru, and consolidated them into a complete course that can be studied by correspondence. In short, his course was set up this way: people begin studying Holistic Yoga course, which aims to bring someone's life in higher harmony and balance, as well as to build a relationship between the student and the instructor of Holistic Yoga, and to create a basis on which can be built more advanced studies. The next phase would include Dharma Level. The purpose of this level is to learn how to live in accordance with the Ultimate Truth. There, the student learn the basics of spiritual life, how to deal with people, and why, and what are the two paths of yoga, the path of will, and the path of surrender. Also, at the end of this level, the student was initiated into the meditation techniques that he must practice daily. When a student finishes the Dharma Level, and if it feels that this particular path of yoga is precisely the one that he wants to follow, he can be initiated in Mantra Level. Purpose of Mantra Level is to really transform one's life so that he, in fact, lives as it is described in the Dharma Level. In Mantra Level, people do connection exercises, participate in Enlightenment Intensives, do meditative techniques, etc., and participate in activities that are oriented to knowledge and wisdom, such is reading the scriptures, and studying the basic truths about life. The next level of studying is the priesthood. Priesthood includes advanced studies. It includes teaching others. In this level, it is expected that the person is a living example of living in accordance with the Truth. Above the priesthood is high priesthood. High priesthood includes more advanced studies, and teaches teachers, and initiate valuable students in advanced yoga practices.
