Family history of George Watson (1795-1866), a soldier, who was born in Birmingham, England to Thomas Creswick Watson and Rebecca ?. He married (1) Ann Percival Martyr (1800-1840) in 1818; and (2) Mary Martyr (b. 1805) in 1844. Both were daughters of Joseph Martyr and Catherine Cobham. George Watson immigrated to Australia in 1839 with his wife Ann and their nine surviving children. These children were born in Ireland and England. Family sailed from Gravesend near London their destina- tion being Sydney, Australia. George had three children with his second wife. This family moved to Melbourne in 1848. Some of his children from his first marriage returned to England to live. George Watson died in Lexton, Victoria.
