Description

Inspector Enrique Alvarez is mourning the loss of his good friend, Pedro, when he is called in to investigate a fatal car crash... Alvarez arrives at the scene and, judging by the state of the Renault, and the stretch of the road the incident occurred, the fatal crash was hardly surprising. With no witnesses and a smashed bottle of whisky in the car the obvious ruling would be that Roger Clarke had been drink-driving when the incident occurred. At least that would be sensible conclusion, had it not been for the fact that Clarke's partner, Tracey, told them Clarke never drank whisky. And what was it about Tracey that Alvarez can't shake? Allured by Tracey, Alvarez begins to spend more time with her. With the loss of his fiancée in a car accident and the recent death of his good friend, Alvarez seeks comfort with the grieving Tracey. However, her motives for spending time with Alvarez are not as they seem... As the mystery behind Clarke's death unfolds, a series of deaths come into the equation. Could there possibly be a connection? As Alvarez digs deeper, he uncovers what seems to be a conspiracy and three of the five men involved are now dead. Alvarez's investigation leads him to Nice, France and under pressure to recover stolen jewellery and gold plate, Alvarez is not prepared for the unexpected twist the case throws at him...
