David and Larry Montford are identical twins who share a special connection: the hypersensitivity to what each other is thinking, dreaming or hoping. David and Larry are dissatisfied with their current life situations and are hungry for a change. One night they discover that they have the ability to expand their shared awareness and break the boundaries of time and space. With this new ability, the Montford twins seek to alter the course of their lives, undo past mistakes, and build a future as great men of wealth and power. One night, due to random events in nature, David and Larry are able to contact their younger selves. They then tell the younger twins where they can find a stash of mob money in Jersey City before the police get to it. The older twins talk their younger counterparts in to stealing some of the money and, after a number of close calls, the younger twins are successful. They then invest it all with the guidance of their older selves, thus laying the foundations for an affluent existence.During the numerous temporal communications with their older selves, the Montford twins intrude in the dreams of two other teenage twins-the Black sisters. Because the Black sisters appear to be hearing voices and doing poorly in school, they are institutionalized and must fight for their very survival. While institutionalized, they demonstrate special abilities and are offered their freedom if they help Lance Adams, director of the CIA's Genesis Project. The sudden wealth of the Montford twins has attracted government attention and, with the help of the Black sisters, Adams hopes to capture the Montford twins in the name of national security. However, his true motives rest with the ghosts of his own past.During their many adventures, the four twins develop paranormal abilities that allow them to resist Lance's efforts to capture them, gain great wealth, and ultimately change their lives forever.
