When it comes to ambition, I can't help myself from constantly pursuing happiness. My brain always recognises when I could be happier and wills me to do my best to get there. Setting aside logic, I often follow my heart towards the happiness I am so desperately seeking. Being alone and single, and at an age where I may be running out of years, maybe I started looking too hard. What I do know for sure is that my mind is the happiest when I spend time on a golf course. As a player of a reasonable quality, I also keep up my quest to master the Royal and Ancient game. But I recognize that as a caddie, I stand a much better chance. Nothing beats the feeling of caddying in a Professional tournament, pushing your golfer to his limits like a jockey would push his thoroughbred horse. Following my heart, I decided to turn my back on the lucrative corporate world of online gaming in Gibraltar and pursued a career as a golf caddie on a professional golf tour based on the Spanish Costa del Sol. Living a solitary life, I wrote to occupy myself and to take my mind of the noises in my head. Quietly fighting to keep the demons of loneliness and depression from my door. My stubborn desire to only settle with my "perfect" woman was the reason for my bachelorhood. I was certain my angel was out there somewhere. Looking across the Mediterranean to Africa in the distance, I decided to immerse myself into the Andalusian cultures and traditions. With writing as my hobby, I went to bullfights and fiestas, capturing the events in all their gory details. I Went to Spanish Opens and describe the behind the rope dramas that unfold. With time, I started to love AndalucĂa as my new home, but I needed to learn how to love Spain as much as I loved my South Africa. Within a few years, thanks to a turn of good fortune and lady luck, I went from caddie to a commentator. Doors opened and soon I was living the life that I could only have dreamed of a few years earlier. I missed the thrills of tournament golf, being one with my player, living every shot and decision we make, but instead I was writing and commentating on all the brilliant young stars of the future. On the outside I became a figure that was always smiling and happy, but hidden from view I constantly fought my emotional demons that never fully went away. With loneliness comes an urge to love and be loved, but not all fairy-tales have happy endings. With a click of the fingers, my new life and new found success was gone, pulled out from under my feet. My dreams shattered in one month. I was left with the many good friends that I had made on the tour and along the journey. By just being myself I had become close to some of the finest European golfing stars of the future. Stars that would go on to play In the Ryder Cup and the World Cup of Golf. Once again though it was time to look ahead. Finally learning how to live a life alone and without looking for, or wanting love, I met a Spanish flamenco dancing Cinderella. With any luck perhaps the start of the next chapter in my life.......................
