After two years of pursuing an agent working for the NVA, responsible for intelligence leaks and murder. Thao, through a strange turn of events, becomes the focus of his investigation of murder and drug running in Chicago. Drawing him back into an unwanted revival of memories that he had hoped were behind him. A twisting, constantly changing, turn of events that take him back to the violence of his past, and again finds himself investigating the woman he considered an old nemesis. Drawing him even deeper into the complicated world of a mysterious drug dealer. Taking him from Chicago to Canada, and finally to France, where Range looses the love of his life, and a fellow agent. After she is killed in an old sewer tunnel under the streets of Paris, revenge brings him face to face with a reality that he was totally unaware of. He is finally confronted with his own conflicted accounts of those two years in Bien-hoa. When the reality of the mysterious man, the French call Spectre' is revealed.
