The last her adopted father had heard, Ruth s real family was in Kansas. With the help of a cowboy traveling the same road, Ruth finds her sister, Naomi. Together, they continue on to search for their parents. The cowboy continues to ride with them and gets them out of trouble more than once. Once they reach Kansas, things don t go as planned.
