Description

No-one believed the town drunk when he claimed to have been woken up by an extinct animal in a bus shelter in the middle of the night ... But they are listening to him now in this funny novel! The greedy Mayor seems to be the only one who has a problem with Wish-Wash's new celebrity. Who Knew The Tasmanian Tiger Eats Apples! is the sequel to the Windy Mountain Tasmanian Tiger series and it has a story all of its own. The book is set in the early 1990s and takes a satirical dig at a small town and some small-minded officials. The plot takes some quirky detours and you'll meet some quirky folk If you enjoy a dash of mystery with your laughs, you might just love this book. READ WHAT OTHER READERS SAY I ENJOYED THE book for its quirky, exaggerated characters and its satirical, tongue in cheek look at life in a small town. WHAT MORE can you ask in a cast of characters? The story itself, a quick read, is light-hearted and humorous, and a good start to a series. DIDN'T WANT to put it down ... the characters were colorful and fun! This is a quick read and enjoyable! THERE ARE several stories going on in this book, all with humorous moments, and well developed characters. I gave it 4 stars only because I never read 5 star reviews. I'M OFF TO read the second Windy Mountain book, Lie of the Tiger. The Thylacine lives! IF YOU like your humour with a touch of mystery and quirky townsfolk, then you may also enjoy this story. SOME OF the Australian slang was a little difficult to understand at first, but added to the flavor of the book. THIS WAS a goofy, enjoyable book, a real change of pace from most books out there. IT WASN'T until I got over halfway through that I started to appreciate that the author's humour was much subtler than I had initially given him credit for. And the ending was perfect. This is a book that rewards perseverance. THIS WAS a really fun, easy, breezy read. The pacing moves along at a good clip. No meandering, dull exposition.
