" Pour La Forêt du CCA à Kitakyushu, j'avais l'idée de faire des arbres très simples et très artificiels. J'avais cette volonté de réaliser une installation all-over : un environnement total qui fonctionne une nouvelle fois de manière autonome. Le projet consistait à reconstituer une forêt à partir d'un seul matériau recouvrant à la fois les murs et le sol, sous forme de cylindres suspendus qui simulent les troncs. L'espace devait être assez grand afin que les troncs empêchent de comprendre la topographie du lieu. Il s'agissait pour moi de fabriquer une pièce que l'on puisse toucher, habiter et qui permette de rejouer l'expérience sensorielle d'une promenade en forêt. Pour appréhender cet espace, le spectateur est mis devant des possibilités plus physiques que visuelles. Il est invité à visiter un environnement mais aussi à s'y asseoir. Une fois au centre de La Forêt, l'arrivée d'un autre visiteur est perçue comme une sorte d'apparition ".
