Thomas McCadam was born before 1737, probably in County Down, Ireland. He married Catherine in about 1767. They had three children. They emigrated in December 1766. Thomas died at sea. Catherine and the children settled in South Carolina. Descendants used McAdam and McAdams and other variant spellings of their name. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas.
