Description

In your hands are 3 separate works of poetry that Kenneth Foster Jr. wrote at different points of his life. They have been forged together to give an overview of his struggle, growth, release from death row and current view of life in prison now off of death row. Inside you will find 3 pieces of work:* Tribulation's Eyes was written in 2000 and released in 2001. These are the very first poems he ever wrote in his life.* Texas Tears is the second book that he wrote. * 08-30-07 may be the most special of them all as these are poems that are his voice in the celebration of his exit from death row.He closes this collection of work off with a few poems that highlight his views, feelings and beliefs about the prison system. General Population is extremely different from segregated housing, especially from death row. The mentalities, principles and lifestyles have been a challenge to deal with. But, one thing unchanged is what the Prison Industrial Complex is about. He sees it and he can only pray to help others see it. These last poems describe him and what he sees amongst it all.Kenneth Foster Jr. remains relentlessly fighting against his life sentence. Many across the world believe he has paid his debt to society. His support team remains vigilant for any avenue (legal or otherwise) that can free him. In the face of these challenges, he remains dedicated to change the Law of Parties (the statute that allowed him to be sentenced to death) with the hopes it'll help save the lives of others sentenced to die though they never killed anyone nor intended a life to be taken.Having been incarcerated since 1996, prison and political activism has become embedded in Kenneth's DNA. He remains active with his work to shed light on mass incarceration through his writings.
