Phillip Haas Sr. was born 30 December 1807 in Hohwiller, Alsace, France. His wife Mary Eve Cullmann Hass was born 20 June 1812 also in Hohwiller. They emigrated to America from Alsace, France in 1840 arriving first in New York where they stayed for a short time before moving on to Washington Township, Holmes County, Ohio. In 1866 they made their final move to Worth County, Missouri. "Father and Mother died about twenty-eight years and thirty years respectively after they reached Worth County."--P. 11. Both are buried in Fletchall Cemetery in Worth County, Missouri. Descendants lived in Missouri, California, South Dakota, Ohio, Iowa, North Dakota, Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, Idaho, Wyoming and elsewhere.
