Ted visits an area where past, present, and future types of societies are investigated, by computer modeling. New groups are the Obese people and the Cosmic people. The latter are part of a time-travel project. Ted is accidentally projected 100 years ahead. Some of the world leaders promote a limited' war. Victoria and the war attenuators' try to prevent this occurrence. Ted lands in a nation of obese people. They find records of history of the previous 100 years. The population of the world has dropped and regressed back into a pre-industrial era. /EXCERPTS FROM THE TEXT Ted spent the next few days writing out his findings on the root causes of war and sent his report to Victoria.
