He later served in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge. He spent the next 50 years working in the ski industry and moved all across the United States. He returned to Colorado in 1995 and now lives in Montrose, Colorado with his wife and two dogs. His first book titled, "A Boy From Notteroy" is a collection of short stories of his childhood in Norway during the Nazi Occupation; 1940-1945.
