His fourth ship bound for Cuba the same year of the Batista coup. His travels continued along the eastern seaboard ports of the southern United States. Finally, discover his plan to jump ship, enter America and live his dream as an American citizen. A true story of adventures in the life of a young Norwegian merchant marine aboard four different ships, as the world recovered from World War II. (Efforts have been made to maintain historical accuracy of events this book.) JAN ERLING GULLIKSEN first came to Colorado in 1952. He later served in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge. He spent the next 50 years working in the ski industry and moved all across the United States. He returned to Colorado in 1995 and now lives in Montrose, Colorado with his wife and two dogs. His first book titled, "A Boy From Notteroy" is a collection of short stories of his childhood in Norway during the Nazi Occupation; 1940-1945.
