Landon used to be a country stay named Jamey Lane, a distant cousin, to Levi. He was making good. But he just couldn't handle the success He faked his death, and ran his car off of a pier. His new name is now Landon Sears and he builds sailboats and repairs them for people. He takes people out on cruises at night and he lives on his boat. he meets Joni at the diner she just opened up. Joni has a past herself. He is back. He keeps calling her and hires a hit man to take her out. But a EX Marshall is in the diner and ends up killing him. Landon walks in and ask what happened and later on they are dumping a body in the ocean and dumping a car in a parking lot. Joni has memory loss from the beatings that Clint gave her, who is now in jail and waiting to go to trial for everything he did a lot of women. Joni doesn't remember ever having met Landon back 4 years ago, when he was Jamey and she doesn't remember having a book that she dedicated to him either and neither does he. Not to the EX Marshall shows him the book. But neither ever tell her about it. Along the way a reporter shows up and starts trouble for Landon and in the process he finds Landon's long lost brother Hartley. Hartley has a wife named Libby and little girl. He has been looking for Jamey. They end up meeting again and all kinds of things happen. You will have to read it to find out the conclusion of what happens to all of them in the book. It is a twist you won't be expecting at the end. I left it open for a possible number 3.
