In 2014 Bettina Pousttchi (*1971) was awarded the Wolfsburger Art Prize "Junge Stadt sieht Junge Kunst" (Young City Sees Young Art). The German-Iranian artist works in the media of photography, video, and sculpture and is primarily concerned with themes such as the perception of time and the delineation of borders. She became well known for her project 'World Time Clock' (2008–14), for which she flew around the world in order to photograph a public clock at five minutes to two in each time zone. For her work conceived for the façade of Wolfsburg Castle, 'The City - Eine Transnationale Skyline' (The City - A Transnational Skyline) she combines ten skyscrapers, including the Empire State Building, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, and Burj Khalifa in Dubai, into a fake, hybrid high-rise - as an exploration of the role of art in public space.
