A sixty-year-old woman is told by her doctor she has an incurable brain tumor and has less than a year to live. Lillian faces the situation alone. She has no family and recently divorced, following a long, miserable marriage. Her doctor gives her the name of another woman in a similar position. They meet and Lillian is invited to join a group of women who are all fighting the same battle. Eventually, one of them thinks of something they could do to give their lives meaning. There are so many children in hospitals with no future that the women visit the children to brighten their day and tell them stories. Once the women begin visiting the kids, they learn that therapy works both ways! Lillian is no longer lonely, and she finds peace and joy talking to the youngsters. When the time comes that she in no longer able to continue, the others in her support group are by her side when God reaches out to take her.
