It is the third leg of a trilogy involving the Shylane Cattle Company located on the Tonto Rim in Arizona territory. Lane Tandy and his wranglers trail a herd of large frame cattle into the Lone Lobo Ranch located at the terminus of the Book Cliffs and near Price, Utah. The moment they arrive at the Lone Lobo Ranch they get into a shooting war with Trey Jensen and his gang of cutthroats that have taken over the Lone Lobo. These ruthless owlhoots immediately take over the herd and kidnap Sandra Winterton that had recently taken ownership of the ranch when her father was killed under suspicious circumstances. This novel has Western lore in spades, heroics, action and compelling characters. A great many frontiersmen die before this clash of good against evil is sorted out.
