Description

Two Universes (Branes) collide, with terminal consequences for one of them. A culture as old as five complete cycles of creation and destruction has colonized our Universe, and holds us in its thrall. Dick has lost his girl in the event, termed a “Bounce”, during which mass and energy are exchanged between the two Branes involved. He is sent on a wild adventure through the Lattice, and must find evidence of the famed Cintimani Stone and artifacts made from the stone.Everything from Solomon's Ring to the Stone of Destiny has been said to have been made from the Stone, which is rumoured to have been the Pillow Stone of Jacob. Dick has found the key to a map among manuscripts kept at an eternal library on the Astral Plane, and must follow the clues to solve a different mystery, involving his favourite collectable, High Art. Through trials and tribulations, danger and self-discovery, he learns the path he must take to solve the mystery of his quest, and be reunited with his girl, Jen. His uncle is killed in a strange lab accident, and he inherits a large sum of money. the work his uncle was doing for the Canadian government is the key to travel from our world to other dimensions. A vast panorama of characters, alien settings, alternate histories (notably Ancient Egypt), unknown alien technology, conspiracy, theosophical wisdom, cartoon characters that come to life, the search for a higher power or ultimate Master, are all part of this humorous yet intelligent and thoughtful book. Here are some points about characters that appear in the story. Garth,Roger's protege and inheritor of the experiment that killed him. He is sent to another dimension when the latest version of the experiment malfunctions due to a massive solar flare. He discovers a plane of existence so different from our own that the mind boggles. It first appears to him in his prescient dreams, during which knowledge of the future becomes real to him. A world where Dreamers from across the galaxy fly through the air and up into a Rift in space-time itself, caused by the ongoing collision of our Universe ( or Brane) with another. Through the Rift exists four different versions of reality, Alien Nexus One, Alien Nexus Two, the Modus Control Center and Darkworld. Our Universe culminates in a plateau stage called Alien Nexus One, the other Brane culminates as Alien Nexus Two, the Modus Control Center is an extrusion of Alien Nexus One into the world Garth first was sent to by the malfunction, called Alien Nexus Three. It is the result of the collision of the two original branes, and is a third Brane with a much “foamier” character. A gigantic guardian stands watch on the plane of Alien Nexus Three, trying to prevent the progress of beings from Alien Nexus Two in their efforts to exploit our dimension. He also challenges any new arrivals on the plane for dominance and use of the portal to our instant in space-time , a large hole in the plane. The plane is a plain, and above it Dreamers fly in and out of the Rift, challenged by the intimidating Blackbirds, also known as Dark Triangles, which emanate from Alien Nexus Two. Garth experiences all this and more.Darkworld Duck - A strange collision of Branes has transformed this former Earth resident into a half zombie, half cartoon duck character. He steals the Ring from the Dark One and rescues Dick and his girl at the very last moment before they are fed to dragons. There is also Joe, a former resident of Alien Nexus Two, he is flung into Limbo after Alien Nexus Two is destroyed around him. He awakes in the Garden, and must await the return of the Master. He goes on a quest and eventually is reincarnated on Earth. There are many, many other characters in my novel, from Ancient Egyptian Princesses and Gods to zombies to transcendent slugs masquerading as super-heroes.
