Antonio Gamoneda (1931) is a Spanish poet. He was awarded with the inaugural European Prize for Literature, the Reina Sofia Award, and the Cervantes Prize, the highest honor in Spanish literature. He is the author of Sublevación inmóvil / Motionless Revolt (1960), Descripción de la mentira /A description of the Lie ( 1977), Edad /Age (Poetry 1947-1986 ), amongst others. Written in the 1960s and censored for political reasons in Francoist Spain, Castilian Blues was only published in 1982. This is its first English edition.
