Description

The first installment of the Crystals of Myst series begins in a world where wizardry and enchantments thought to exist in only faerie tales and television magic, which comes to life in this special unique series of good versus evil. Where intrigue, mystery, medievalism and CSI collides together in this modern day mystery fantasy where science and magic meets head on. Xora Andrews has many secrets. Of course, everyone else can lay claim they have one of those. So, let us examine this one particular person. One who has been chosen out of the many millions of people on earth by unforeseeable circumstances. In the beautiful hills of the Northeastern parts of Tennessee. Our heroine, Xora Andrews, a mature young woman, has been lost for several months. By unexpected events, she was found in the woods by Tennessee State Trooper, Jerry Shoun. After hearing someone screaming, he stumbles upon her body in the forest near the interstate. After he calls it in, the FBI shows up and starts asking questions. With enervated strength, she grabs the FBI criminalist, Agent Tommy Whitecloud, warning him not to trust anyone. When Agent Whitecloud asks her who left her for dead, she mumbles "White Raven." Who or what is this White Raven? She is rushed to the hospital and the doctors notice something very peculiar about her blood, which contains an enormous amount of swimming parasites. But then again, Xora's body wasn't the only bizarre thing recovered in the clearing. There was another. Big. Unusual. And a Goliath corpse that had to measure at least eight feet tall. How very strange to encounter something so magnanimous and abnormal. Long-time friends of Xora's, Sheriff Ray Silvers and Patrolman David Locksley of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, could not help but to wonder what Xora had gotten herself into that was so dangerous that she would need to be placed in protective custody. However, she confesses to having partial amnesia of what really happened out in the woods, and with that, the knowledge and information she has locked up inside her head, changes everything. Turmoil seeps into her mind to disclose her secret to her friends or have them killed by their ignorance of not knowing about her disappearance. And then, there is FBI Agent Tommy Whitecloud. Handsome, dark-skinned, Native American of the Cherokee Nation, has a dark hidden past of his own for whom Xora could sense a kindred spirit from him the moment their skin made contact. And that moment led to Xora's compassion for him as a spark of recognition for him to come to his senses to trust her. And trust her he does when he reveals his secret to Xora, and her two law enforcement officer friends. Forcing a heavy burden upon her shoulders, Xora must choose to reveal her secrets to her three friends, or let those around her die. Will Tommy, Locksley and the sheriff become her worst enemies? Or best allies? And then, there was the mysterious Dr. Zeiten. He seems to know all about Xora and her hidden secrets, but refuses to disclose any information about her. And for some unknown reason, Tommy recognizes Zeiten after all the years he had known him. Can this gentle giant of a man shed some light on the subject? Or remain just as tight-lipped by keeping doctor-patient privileges? Will Agent Whitecloud, David Locksley and the Sheriff of Sullivan County become her worst enemies or her best allies? In events past, would finding an eight-foot corpse make her a suspect or a victim? Only time will tell. In the meantime, an unknown Energy succeeds in forcing Xora to leave her body, and she enters into the dangerous and deadly world unknown as Mystea. And this begins book one of the Crystals of Myst series.
