Several strangers soon discover that they were lured to a desolate California diner and motel, not to engage in their own horrific crimes, but...as victims for a family of serial killers, with all of the victims interconnected. Fate or judgment day? Krystal is running through the California night desert. She stumbles and falls, revealing that she's dressed in a business suit. Her face is contorted with fear, but then hope spreads across her face, as she sees the lights of the small, desolate diner and motel, EASY REST INN. Just as Krystal starts to run down the highway, she is struck by a tow truck, with her blood quickly staining the pavement. A killer stands above Krystal mangled body and whispers, "In this world there are two kinds of people...victims and...killers." Back at the diner, the killer begins putting Krystal into a 55-gallon, metal barrel. A brief scan around the area ominously reveals several empty barrels, indicating that the killer is optimistic about more victims. The next morning, Bryan, appears, as he walks towards the diner. He has just returned from Iraq and is hitchhiking across the United States. Nima, a businessman, late for an appointment, nearly runs Bryan over, with Nima then experiencing car problems and creeps into the adjacent gas station, where he meets Bobby, who is wearing filthy, torn overalls. Bobby advises that he can fix the car, but it will take time. Nima walks into the diner, just as Bryan also enters. Inside the diner, they see Harold and Martha, an elderly looking couple, who are dressed in bright Hawaiian shirts. College coeds Emilee, Sarah, Cassidy, and Tiffany sit at another booth, drinking milkshakes. They're dressed in modern style and appear to be college students. Toby, who looks like an old farmer/rancher, with a weathered straw hat and worn Bible, sitting on the table in front of him. Bruce and Eddie, who are dressed casually and look like gangsters. Angel, Miguel, and Moses, who are Latinos, wearing rough clothing, as though they've just walked across the desert. Amy, dressed in an old 1950's style, waitress outfit, who screams sex. Vinnie, wearing a soiled apron, and with an unlit cigar stuck between his teeth. Doug, a California Highway Patrolman, walks into the diner, with everyone recognizing him, as the cop, who gave them all speeding tickets, in his speed trap. Doug smiles and then advises that the road has been washed away, in both directions....everyone is going to have to spend the night. As the sun drops behind the horizon, the strangers reveal their secrets.... Angel, Miquel, and Moses just robbed a strip club, owned by Harold. Bruce and Eddie are undercover cops, looking for the leader of a smuggling organization, which smuggles young girls into the United States for prostitution. Doug molested Cassidy, when she was just a girl and now she wants revenge. Sarah's father is the judge, who falsely convicted Emilee's uncle and Emilee wants Sarah to pay. Eddie is actually working for a criminal organization and has sold out Bruce. Bryan was responsible for the death of Amy's brother. While the strangers believe that the EASY REST INN is where they will find...justice, they soon discover that the killer knows secrets about them and how their lives are interconnected. One by one, the killer stuffs victims into the 55-gallon, metal drums, while the remaining strangers continue their own horrors.
