Description

Eufrázio Lisboa dos Santos, Campos dos Goytacazes, September 27, 2023. Pastor Elias do Amaral Viana, what else can I say about this man of God! Having released books in Portuguese, English, Chinese, French, Spanish, German and Russian. Incredible human being! I remember when I arrived at the First Baptist Church in Farol de São Thomé, Campos dos Goytacazes - RJ, with my head all messed up, because I came from a doctrine that preached reincarnation. I was guided by this great man to enroll in the leadership school course (CEFOL), at the Seminário Batista de Campos dos Goytacazes. Where I could get my thoughts in order. Then I passed through the waters of Baptism, becoming part of the body of Christ, with the aforementioned Pastor as my Pastor, life continues its course! But not satisfied, I completed the Distance Theology Course, where I became more interested in the Gospel, but life has its setbacks! I lost my father-in-law, it was a big blow. I felt immense pain, despite all the support, there was no way: I developed depression, I started not leaving my room, not eating, I isolated myself from everything and everyone, for a period of thirty days. That's when the following question came to me: WHY IS LIVING WORTH? I started to meditate on this question, because I looked at my daughter and wife and thought: if I die, they will survive without any problems, evil inspiration. Then I realized that life has its meanings, I couldn't have this type of thinking, that's when with a lot of effort I started meditating on the Word of GOD and thinking about people who have serious depression problems, for example: you could say that They have eschatological problems, as they are not able to see what their end will be from a present perspective. It's when you look at the present or the end and you no longer have that engine. Regardless of whether you are a Christian or not, every depressive process necessarily goes through a review of Eschatological perception. The term of this word comes from eschaton (from the Greek), which means "the last things". We say that the essence of a good Eschatology is to produce hope. And then Eschatology appears, not because of a movement of distrust, but because the depressive begins to realize that something is broken, life is difficult. Because of this, it is now necessary to have fuel, motivation, commitment, an engine that makes this individual look forward, even in adverse situations. Eschatology, therefore, is born from a perception, when the individual realizes that there is something difficult disturbing the flow of life. From this perception, the individual then needs fuel, an engine, something that motivates them, bringing hope to continue living. Eschatology is also a look at things that are happening and that leverages them for the future, giving an expectation. In a way, it tries to answer a very important question for human beings: "Why is life worth living?" Biblical Eschatology, then, teaches us why life is worth living. It is capable of giving us these answers, because it underpins the reason for our hope and the direction of our life, despite any circumstance. We need to understand that this eschatological thought is not exclusive to Christian or Jewish thought. You will realize that there are different currents of thought, cultures and religions that develop a thought or an idea in order to try to guide or answer this same question - this reason for hope or the lack thereof, always seeking to answer whether it is worth living and what motivates man to do this. I am sure that this book will bring comfort to our souls, as it will show us that it is worth living when we have a fruitful life awaiting the return of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this comes judgment, Hebrews 9:27.
