Down Under Yogis - your ultimate guide and support to reach out for anytime 'your cup needs filling up'. Are you looking for ways to improve the quality of your life? Curious about yoga? Have you been considering yoga but feel you wouldn't 'fit in'? Does the feeling of community support sound comforting only you're not ready to reach out and ask about those in-depth questions? Perhaps you already practise yoga and are looking for new direction to strengthen and deepen your practice? Or are you a seasoned 'yogi' who loves to find refuge in a great yoga book? Whatever you can relate to, an enjoyable journey with Down Under Yogis awaits-your horizons are about to expand! I believe we all have something unique to offer each other. I have learnt so much from all the amazing people that I've met along the way of this book project, for which I'm most grateful and I'm excited to be able to pass on to you. From my circle of friends and family, new connections kept flowing, until quite organically Down Under Yogis became a compilation of 70 truly engaging stories. You too are sure to connect on a personal level with those featured, including some remarkable role models from our community; Janine Allis (founder of 'Boost Juice'), Professor Fiona Stanley AC FAA, Ronald Woss AM, Claire Bevilaqua (professional surfer), Jose Calarco and Ana Forrest of Forrest Yoga (internationally acclaimed yoga teachers), Simon Borg-Olivier (internationally acclaimed yoga teacher) and many others. From ancient traditions to modern takes which have arisen, yoga has become extremely popular in the Western world, and for very good reason. Yoga provides a necessary pressure release in our fast paced, often digital life. Yoga itself doesn't solve life's problems; however practising yoga does teach you ways to help manage the inevitable difficult situations in life, as you naturally begin to increase your awareness, self-confidence, self-love and acceptance of the unchangeable. Yoga encourages you to always give your best effort and is an excellent key to unlocking greater potential from within. The physical health benefits are an added bonus! Like most of us, it seems, I find it difficult at times to maintain the perfect balance of both yin and yang. Yoga helps me to regain balance and has become my anchor in the stormiest of seas. I hope by sharing these life lessons and experiences from our vast yoga community, you too will find more balance and flow in your life.
