Emancipated Stereotypes is a culmination of ideals, theories, values and perspectives. Whether we want to admit it or not we are all guilty of stereotyping another individual or demographic of people at some point in our life. Unfortunately, the same way we have condemned others for their actions that same judgment knocks on our door each and everyday whether we choose to answer it or not. The purpose of this project was to address the many stereotypes we endure on a daily basis and provide a body of poetry that our current generation will be able to embrace in a modern way. We all have the right to be free from our own guilt and the pressure of living up to the standards of anyone else. Most of us play multiple roles in the lives of others each day. Growth can be a difficult process but it does not always have to be painful. Every individual on this earth deserves respect while in the process of their maturation. There is not an adult nor child on this earth less important than the other. Should a Pastor be respected more than a Sinner? Should a Teacher be treated better than a student? Are service members any different than civilians? The answer is no. Every individual at one point or another will have to answer to our Lord and Savior. It is not our job to condemn another man or woman simply because we do not agree with their lifestyle choices. We must continue to find ways to express ourselves in a positive manner and encourage each other to pursue our dreams regardless of our current situation or the histories of our past. We are still fighting for justice and equality for all people despite the efforts of our ancestors. Everyone should be treated with decency and respect regardless of the color of their skin. We all deserve to be loved but more importantly to be forgiven as well. In this life nothing is guaranteed. We are all flawed regardless of social status, earned income or educational background.
