Description

Hell offers Potential Purification, enabling reconciliation with God. But many in Hell will refuse it forever. Hell really makes a lot of sense, understood Biblically. We all know what it's like to resist good, God, light, love, truth, evidence, life, and grace. We do it; others do it. We doubt God's promises. We covet the fruits of darkness. Romans 3:10-12. Explain how it is possible to choose such woe for even one moment, here on Earth, before you reject Biblical evidence of the danger of hardening your heart so much that you will push God away forever! Hell "Fire" is God's loving solution. Many verses describe the flames which torture those who hate God, and the flames which purify God's saints, without indicating a difference except that flames in Hell are not “quenched”. Hebrews 12 explains why it is not the flames you should fear, but your hard heart. Hell Fire is spiritual reality. It is justice. It is your debt which you must “pay” if you forfeit Grace – Matthew 18:34 – as huge as your heart is hard: up to twice the cruelty, of word or deed, you do or wish upon others; twice the suffering of others you might ease but flip off; twice the kicks you aim through the door when Love and Innocence come to help; twice the ignorance you earn by resisting correction; and twice the chains of the withering, from disuse, of your wisdom, talent, and potential. Up to forever, if you remain as stubborn as you are now. Heaven does not provide Hell to hurt you. Hell is not the chaotic brainless destruction of the terrorist's bomb, but the intelligent soul-saving slicing of the surgeon's knife. CONTENTS: The book begins with an 18 page introduction with an overview of how Hell can be "hotter than mere fire", a comparison with other theologies of Hell, an invitation for you to help edit this book, and how this theology leads to apathy about your eternal destiny less than any other theology. The Biblical case for the view of Hell of this book is made in the 186 pages of the main section which is divided into 30 easy-reading chapters. If this is enough to satisfy your curiosity, without reading the remaining resources, than my dire warnings of potential mental exhaustion will not apply to you. But if you know many other Scriptures which you have been taught support another theology, you will want to know how those verses can be reconciled with this new theology, so you will need to read on. Part 2 focuses for 20 pages on Mark 9:43-50. It studies the implication of the passage that the fire which purifies the saints, and the fire which torments the damned, is of the same nature. One clue is the "worm", singular, in Hell, which torments everyone there. Jesus says "their (plural) worm (singular)". A parallel Old Testament passage identifies it as a particular kind of worm which represents the Grace of God. Three commentators call this "the most difficult passage in the Bible." Part 3 asks: is slavery under Moses' law evidence that it is consistent with God's character to impose never ending cruelty? No! God never authorized lifetime slavery. 22 pages. Part 4 is a 35 page overview of all the passages taken as proof that everyone who goes to Hell remains there forever. If only one of these verses so specifies, then this whole book is wrong. Part 5 is a 38 page book review of "Hell Under Fire", a 2004 book by 9 seminary professors defending the traditional Protestant view of an endless Hell from which no one escapes. I sent my review, with a copy of my book, to the 9 professors. Only one responded to say I was all wrong, but he would not specify a single error I had made. Part 6 is a 5 page review of "Two Views of Hell", authored by Robert Peterson, who defends the traditional Protestant view, and Edward Fudge, a Texas attorney who promotes the "annihilationist" view that people in Hell suffer for a time and then their souls "die" or cease to exist.
