Caught by the Royal Ulster Constabulary while detonating a stolen van packed with 100 kg of Semtex, Jake is clapped in dreaded Maze prison and interrogated by . . . George Smiley? Then there's the firefight in the fog, the assassination attempt on Margaret Thatcher and the satchel of money stolen from gunrunners.
