*This is the second part in a four part book series* Ashburg; the city that's split into rich and not so rich, upper and middle class, the snobs and the down-to-earth...that's how most teenagers perceived it, anyway. The teenagers of Ashburg, California have been brought up the way that the city has been brought up: the rich don't look twice at those that are "beneath them" and the middle class hate the rich. But what makes it even worse is that the teens are split into two high schools that maintained a nasty rivalry ever since they were created. And that rivalry just got a little more intense. Reagan Jacoby is struggling with the idea that her father now has to squeeze in time for his girlfriend and her daughters into his life instead of only focusing on his own. She misses the days where they would watch their favorite TV shows together or when he would accompany her to the skatepark for encouragement to land a new trick. She would do anything to get that special time back, even at the cost of her father's trust. Still feeling the sting of a tough grounding, Mickey Powers now has to rely on her best friend Austen for entertainment or else she would go crazy. But is she relying on him a bit too much? When their friendship is tested by the idea of her worst nightmare coming true, Mickey has to find a way to come to grips with a life without Austin and a life of which she is in control. Ronan Jacoby always has a tune bouncing around in her head and a few of those notes are about to turn sour. She is proud to say that she would do anything for a friend. She quickly finds that promise coming back to haunt her when her dearest friend begins to take a turn down a dark path. Savannah Powers's newest goal is to get on the Prom Court and win Prom Princess. With Lilly's aid she's sure that the position is a lock. Or is it? She's been through worse tabloid fodder than random smear campaigns that traverse the halls of Ashburg Arts but nothing hurts quite like having a knife stabbed in your back. They are quick to jump on anyone who claims that they are alike, vehemently denying the accusations. Now that life is stepping in to show their similarities they're slowly beginning to wonder if they are, in fact, four of a kind.
