As the Conservative Party moved forward with it's 'Get Britain Working' campaign our local candidate for Warrington South, David Mowat, felt that it was their duty with the number of unemployed on the rise to tackle this problem locally. I knew David through our charity work supporting young people, and he asked me to write a programme to reflect supporting the unemployed, particularly the Executive/Graduate groups where there was little support. Working in partnership with the DWP and JCP I had delivered Executive/Job Club and Graduate programmes in the last recession. I then set about a programme using a 'trend analysis' which reflected our new economic climate. This bespoke programme is the basis for this book 'Get Britain Working'. I have to say that I changed the programme weekly as it was 'user led' and had to reflect what my clients needed in skill terms to successfully compete in today's job market.
