Early in his youth Gielijn Escher (1945) became fascinated by and without effort familiar with the essence of poster art: the forging of complete harmony between text and image. In the winter of 1955-56 at the age of 5 he started collecting orange-crate labels quickly followed by the beginning of a poster collection.
