The Holocaust. How could "they" have done it? That is the question to ask. I attempt in this book, How To Create Peace, to teach how we are called upon to protect and educate our children from becoming complicit through their silence and inaction. This story will explain to children why acting as a bully or remaining silent when confronted with bullying is wrong. I seek to develop their acknowledgment of how taking personal responsibility using their social morality and how their actions affects those around them. To teach how their inaction, which helps the bullying behavior continue, leaves them with consequences that last a lifetime. The current accepted, erroneous choice to remain silent hurts both the victim of the attack, whether verbal or physical, and the witness. Children will never forget witnessing harm to another human being and how their personal inaction harmed the victim because they did nothing to help. The lack of education about what they could have done-that was left undone-scars them as well. There are three pieces in play for civilization to fall apart: a perpetrator, a victim, and a willing witness. Here, I attempt to teach children not to allow themselves the opportunity to become a participant due to their lack of action, which makes them the willing witness. It has been proven that the willing witness is complicit with the perpetrator and assists the perpetrator, who feels righteous in the act of abuse, simply by their taking no action to stop the abuse. This inaction, found also in bystanders, must end. We must teach the children how to take action-to instead be a Standupster. This book is created to teach readers this very lesson, in ways that they can understand and put to work. These are the five valuable concepts within this book which are described in detail and are part of a recipe for creating peace-Respect, Responsibility, Standupster, Contribution and Peace. Each word, on its own, is important, but together they can inspire a movement. Please, pass these lessons on and help humanity and the world learn, How To Create Peace.
