He retired as Professor from the College of Pharmacy, University of Alexandria, Egypt, as Cancer Research Scientist in Industrial Companies in America and as Adjunct Professor at Columbus State Community College, where he was a recipient of the Distinguished Teaching Award. Dr. Gharbo has published many scientific papers. He was a three-time Olympian with the Egyptian National water polo team.
