So, how to describe this book of poetry? Or more like how to sell this book of poetry. Well I started writing when I was 14, and anyone who's ever been 14 knows they have lot to say. I was just trying to cope with everything I was going through. But about a year and half later I was sitting in lock-down with nothing to do, until a friend of mine read one of my poems and said that I was so good I should write a book. I sat there baffled. I couldn't believe, that I, the one who's wanted to be an author since I was 3, never thought of that?! So that's when I decided this was going to be a book. It took me a minute because that was 3 years ago. But here I am, a published author working on their second book. I may not know much in the way of formal schooling about how to write, format, or sell a book of poetry; but I was always more of a hands on learner anyways. And maybe this isn't your typical description; but what it is is, honest and authentic. And that's what my book is. (Okay I'm done rambling, here's the sales pitch part) This book is a collection of poems written throughout the abundant life of a, small-town, lesbian, lost girl who had no idea what she wanted to do with her life; As they grew into a, beach-town, pansexual, non-binary, dreamer/poet. This is an exclusive experience to read a non-fiction coming of age story. My story takes us through the realms of spirituality, friendship, death, trauma, gender, sexuality, love, betrayal, lust, and finding authenticity; so basically all the main plot points of your usual coming of age story except this one is real. I'm sure anyone can relate to some part of this book because as I like to say; poetry isn't read, it's interpreted. Art is different to every different person because it relates to every different person, well, differently; because we're all unique.
